A brand new restaurant concept redefines hotel dining at two exceptional properties
NHH Hotels & Resorts introduces Café Zest at two of its branded-hotel properties, Embassy Suites Pittsburgh-International Hotel and Doubletree Hotel Atlanta/Roswell-Alpharetta. The unique hotel restaurant concept, developed by NHH Hotels & Resorts in conjunction with the well-known
Puccini Group of San Francisco, revolves around a casual dining style within a bright, airy environment seating 75 to 100 people. The menu at Café Zest features accessibly priced, New American cuisine, with an emphasis on functional, organic ingredients.
'Café Zest is an exciting venture for us because it fills a huge need in the marketplace for fresh, wholesome food served in a comfortable, friendly atmosphere,' said John J. DePaul, president and CEO of NHH Hotels & Resorts. 'The restaurant's personality is upscale yet very approachable. We wanted to create a venue that is complementary to our hotels, and offers a dining experience for both customers and local residents.'
Café Zest's innovative menu was developed by the NHH Hotels & Resorts' executive team, lead by Ernie Catanzaro, executive vice president of operations and Joe Comunale, head chef at Embassy Suites Pittsburgh-International Hotel. 'We incorporated 'functional foods' that are nutritious as well as delicious,' said Catanzaro. 'Whenever possible, the menu features locally grown, organic fruits, vegetables and all natural ingredients, as well as the option to have a healthful portion size.'
Menu highlights include a Warm Seafood Salad with sautéed shrimp, blackened scallops, crab and salmon, served over crisp greens with a tangy lime cilantro sauce. The Asiago Herb Chicken features a pan-seared chicken breast topped with a fruit salsa and a port wine reduction sauce. Penne Whole Wheat Pasta is topped with fresh tomatoes and mozzarella and lightly drizzled with extra virgin olive oil and fresh Italian herbs.
The Cafe Zest concept will be used in other NHH Hotels & Resorts branded properties in the future. Currently, restaurant locations are at Embassy Suites Pittsburgh-International Hotel (
