Banyan Tree Holdings Limited has contracted with developer Nexus RD for an integrated resort under its Angsana brand, called Angsana Samaná Bay. This property will be the first five-star luxury beachfront development in Samaná Bay, boasting a 284-slip marina. The property is in the initial phases of construction with completion of its first phase expected in 2010. The property will be Banyan Tree's first fully integrated resort development in the Caribbean.
Angsana Samaná Bay is primed as the landmark property that serves as the gateway to gracious marina lifestyles in the Dominican Republic. Designed by WATG, Angsana Samaná Bay comprises a resort and spa with over 200 suites, as well as over 450 Angsana Residences, from low-rise buildings at the marina to larger condominiums inland, in addition to premium villas and townhouses built on the site's highest points, complete with private infinity pools. The integrated resort development is also served by the Angsana Marina for boats up to 120 feet in length, a Yacht Club, and Angsana Marina Village which will feature over 50 retail outlets offering a wide variety of shopping, dining and entertainment amenities for visitors.
Angsana Samaná Bay is located in the pictorial northeastern region of the Dominican Republic where visitors will be able to experience a perfect balance of nature, beach and superlative retail, dining and entertainment options. Samaná Bay is known for its whale watching and famed coastline, being a bird watchers paradise and a sailor's playground.
