Solare Hotels & Resorts Secures Top Australian Hotelier To Head Japan National Operations |

As part of the Solare Hotels & Resorts Co. Ltd. ambitious push to achieve 18,000 rooms in Japan by 2010, Solare has appointed a senior hotel professional from Australia, Mark Lind, to head its Japan operations as Senior Vice President, National Director of Operations. |
Joining Solare Hotels & Resorts in January 2007, Mark Lind brings with him more than 27 years of experience in the hotel industry, including roles as Executive General Manager Operations - NT / WA for Voyages Hotels & Resorts, Resort General Manager of Australia's iconic premier resort - the Ayers Rock Resort, and Regional General Manager - New Zealand for Grand Hotels International.
Reporting to Deputy President & COO Hiroyuki Oki, Lind will be responsible for all hotel operations.
Says Lind; 'It is a great honour to be a part of such a fast moving and ambitious organisation where the details to service and customer needs remain central to the Group's success and future business objectives. Many challenges lie ahead of us in achieving these goals, however working with such a professional team, and by incorporating the expertise accumulated through my long experience in the hotel industry, I am confident that we will not only be able to achieve these goals, but position Solare for further solid growth and expansion well into the years following 2010.'
Says H.Oki, Solare Hotels & Resorts Deputy President & COO; 'With his unique breadth of industry experience and successful track record in all areas of the hotel industry including hotel management, group operations, hotel portfolio expansion, commercial property management and consulting, Mark was the obvious choice to direct our national operations. Mark has the expertise and shares our ambition and passion to take Solare to meet the high goals we have set ourselves in all manners of our operations. We wholeheartedly welcome him to our family and are confident he will prove himself well.'
Lind is a member of the Hotel and Catering International Management Association (HCIMA), Chaine de Rotisseurs, and has previously been on the Executive Committee of the Central Australia Tourism Industry Association (CATIA) as well as the Catering Institute of Australia. During his private time, Lind is looking forward to attaining a deep and meaningful appreciation of his new adopted home through his interests in art collecting, marlin fishing, scuba diving and snow skiing.
